Cork Penny Dinners has been providing homeless supports in Cork for over 137 years. Their incredible work has helped countless people not go hungry. Their dedication and ethos are inspirational. It was for this reason and many more that the Southern Region in FDC Group nominated Cork Penny Dinners to receive a €2,000 donation.
FDC is committed to giving back to the community and making a positive impact on the world. Through our FDC Charity Fund, we support a range of charitable causes both locally, nationally and globally. Since our inauguration in 2005, we have donated over €420,000 to various charities, with a focus on supporting programmes that promote sustainable access to food, health and education.
Every member of staff in FDC has the opportunity to give back. By nominating that a portion of their wages goes to charity each week, FDC matches that donation. Once a year, everyone who donates to the fund has the opportunity to nominate a charity of their choice to potentially receive the donation.
Every help that Cork Penny Dinners offers the community is completely free of charge. In addition to warm meals, they also provide clothes like jackets, scarves and hats when requested.
“Thank you so much for choosing to donate to Cork Penny Dinners, your support goes such a long way to helping us provide assistance to those most vulnerable in the community.”
– Sharon Murphy, General Manager of Cork Penny Dinners
