FDC Group’s Culture of Learning, Leadership & Service Earns 6 Irish Accountancy Awards Nominations
FDC is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for six awards at the 2025 Irish Accountancy Awards, a testament to the organisation’s commitment to learning and development, innovation, collaboration and client service.
This achievement highlights the dedication and expertise of the entire FDC team in delivering exceptional service to our clients. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on May 1st, where FDC looks forward to celebrating alongside the best in the industry.
FDC have been shortlisted in the following categories:
- Graduate Training Programme of the Year: FDC Group – Fostering Growth and Development
- Excellence in Learning & Development: FDC College’s Dedication to Learning
- Client Service Award: FDC Group
- Large Practice of the Year: FDC Group
- Finance Leader of the Year: FDC Group – Micheál O’Driscoll
- Best Finance Collaboration: FDC Group
Steve Collins and Amy Kearney, the recruitment department, are proud to recognise their achievement of being shortlisted for the Graduate Programme of the Year. FDC Accounting Graduate Programme was developed in 2017 with an aim at attracting university students who were interested in beginning their career with FDC. This graduate programme is ever evolving. This graduate programme began as a way of assisting FDC to support the rapid expansion they have experienced over the last number of years. In our continuous effort to put our people first and further enhance the diverse range of expertise available, we seek ambitious and motivated individuals with a desire to develop themselves.

Regarding the nomination, Steve commented, “Amy and I are delighted to be nominated in the Graduate Training Programme of the Year category. Developing and progressing these graduate programmes is part of my role I particularly enjoy. It is very rewarding providing opportunities for the next generation of workers, while ensuring commercial benefit for FDC. Thanks to Amy for all her hard work on this submission.

We have been working on improving and expanding our accountancy graduate programme and this award would be a testament to our hard work and continued success in the future.”

The internal FDC Training department, FDC College is proud to show a second nomination for Excellence in Learning and Development after winning the category in 2024. This recognition is a testament to FDC College’s transformative impact on professional development and its unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Marta Oliveira, Training Manager commented, “Winning the Excellence in Learning and Development award last year set the bar high, however FDC College team does not rest. We continue to add value to our people by creating tailored training experiences that set as apart, empowering our teams to thrive, grow and be the best at what they do. FDC College’s success is built not only on our relentless commitment to continues learning but also on a strong foundation of trust from both employees and management. Being recognised at such a prestigious event is a win and motivation for us to keep pushing boundaries of skill development at FDC.”
The Midleton office emerged as a standout example of how interdepartmental collaboration can transform client outcomes, setting the standard and protocol for the rest of the Group. Housing a multidisciplinary team—agri consultants, tax planners, financial consultants, accountants, and auditors—this office exemplifies the ultimate possibilities when departments operate in sync.
Dave Sheane, Area Manager of the Midleton Office commented on the ethos, model and level of service reflected across the entire Group saying, “As trusted advisors with our clients, taking the time to identify other potential services that will be of benefit is well worth doing. First, the client’s position will potentially be improved or safeguarded. Second, it reinforces and broadens FDC Groups relationship with the client”. As I have said many times in client meetings, ‘I may not know the answer – but there is someone in the Group who does’”.
Micheál O’Driscoll who was shortlisted for Finance Leader of the Year and is the Head of Financial Services. Micheál’s passion for education, training and client success sets a high bar for his team. He has cultivated a culture where professional development is paramount, ensuring all senior consultants achieve the prestigious Certified Financial Planner designation to best service their clients. Micheál’s client-first philosophy is embedded in every facet of the financial planning process, driving the firm’s reputation for delivering exceptional service with a personal touch.
Micheál commented on his nomination saying, “Receiving a nomination for an award like this is a very positive reflection on the collective team effort across FDC that is always is focused on improving client outcomes.”
